The obscenity case over the Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan kiss is all over the news. Today we take a second look, based on the comments of the man who filed the case.


it is very easy to dismiss the case as a publicity stunt … either by the person who did that or by the producers. We too at desiFans did that. But lets look at the case from the person who filed it. in our previous article on this Aishwarya Rai Hrithik Roshan Kiss, we asked several questions. Why Dhoom2 ? Why not Murder or the host of other movies where heroines expose or kiss passionately ? if you do not like, why watch ? Why sue Ash or Hrithik ? Shailendra Dwivedi, the advocate from indore who filed the lawsuit has some of the answers.


Mr. Dwivedi, looks like, is not after publicity !! An advocate by profession, he has been filing quite a few cases. And going by the track record, most of them were for public interest. He had filed a case against director J P Dutta’s LoC Kargil after the indian flag was shown wrongly draped and placed on the coffins of indian martyred soldiers. Also one against painter M F Husain, when he drew Hindu goddesses in the nude.


He says: “”They are portraying vulgarity in our indian culture. Dhoom 2 cannot be watched by indian families because it is a vulgar film. i felt the kissing scene was objectionable. i went to see the film with my child and it was quite embarrassing. The least they could have done was certify this as an adult film. No one is bothered about this, not even the censors. This is not right according to our indian culture.”


Well Mr. Dwivedi, the movie was certified UA .. which means children should be brought in based on parent’s permission. And this movie cannot just be labelled Adult based on a kissing scene. To the question, why did he not file lawsuits against Murder or any such movie.. he has this to say “i didn’t see any of Mallika Sherawat’s films, therefore i am not aware of these things. i happened to see Dhoom 2 and i found the scene objectionable.” Well he needs to watch more movies and understand how movie certification works !!


So it looks like Mr. D has an issue with Bollywood movies in general and not necessarily Aishwarya Rai or Hrithik Roshan. The court has accepted the case and the hearing is on !! You can watch the video at Aishwarya Rai Hrithik Roshan Dhoom 2 Kiss video
