Popular Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan has been signed to portray Lord Ram in Raj Kumar Santoshi’s big screen adaptation of Ramayana. The film has been on and off for a while now, but finally things have started to precede, with Ajay Devgan currently getting fit for the role. Santoshi wants his Bhagat Singh to be in perfect shape to play the legendary figure.
Ajay Devgan is a favourite of Santoshi’s, appearing in many of his recent productions, Lajja and Khakee being two of them. But the most notable of all has to be the one that won Ajay his second National Award, The Legend Of Bhagat Singh.
Ajay Devgan and Raj Kumar Santoshi may face the anxiety similar to what both faced when Legend Of Bhagat Singh released, Sunny Deol made his own version of Bhagat Singh, which bombed at the Box Office, but it did take the shine away from Santoshi’s epic. Now the same thing is about to happen again, with handsome hunk Salman Khan and his family production house gearing up for their own adaptation.
Salman Khan has always been interested in portraying Lord Rama on the big screen, but with no notable directors coming forward to sign him up and Santoshi favouring Ajay Devgan, the Bollywood bad boy is going to do it alone. With the help of his father and brothers, he intends to produce and act in his own version of Ramayana. The actor is currently on the lookout for a respectable director to join the team. Both versions may take a little time to get ready, but there defiantly will be a film, on Ramayana.
