Katrina Kaif dismisses rumours of a race to tie knot before Abhiash.
Katrina Kaif is hopping mad. Rumours that she and beau Salman Khan are trying to beat the Abhiash wedding by getting married themselves earlier on April 18, have brought out the fighting side of the beautiful actor.
“Gossip mongers need a life,” she said sarcastically. “We are certainly not getting married. So I haven’t given the date a thought. Such things are best left to God. My focus right now is on my career. And I am getting good responses for my work.”
That she is, without a doubt. But Katrina denies her success is because Salman has been throwing his muscle behind her career.
She shoots down stories of his sorting out the issues in her work and that she is getting roles because of him.
“I’m mature enough to handle my problems, thank you. As for people signing me at Salman’s behest, if I don’t have the potential to suit their scripts, do you think filmmakers would sign me?”
For the first time also, in an acceptance of her love for him finally, she defends Salman, whose links with former girlfriend Aishwarya Rai come up often enough.
Recent reports that Salman still carried a torch for the former Miss World, have Katrina saying, “Just because Salman doesn’t defend himself, it doesn’t mean all that is being said is true. Give him the respect he deserves. He has 20 years of experience and a huge body of work behind him. It’s unfair, really.”
