Australian actress Isla Fisher, who took to the red carpet this week to promote her latest film “Wedding Crashers” and best known for her role in the first “Scooby Doo” flick, will play Batman’s love interest in the sequel to “Batman Begins,” which has apparently revived the DC Comics film franchise.

To date, “Batman Begins” has earned $154.1 million in the United States, helping the film garner over $220 million worldwide.

Katie Holmes, who starred in “Batman Begins,” won’t be returning because she apparently angered executives at Warner Bros. when her relationship to Tom Cruise dominated interviews intended to promote the film.

One benefit of replacing Holmes’s assistant D.A. character to the film will be that it will opens the door for Harvey Dent to enter the Batman World, possibly setting the tragic character of Two-Face to become the villain in a future movie.

There are rumors that singer Justin Timberlake will play the villain Two-Face, who is a friend of Bruce Wayne’s until he’s disfigured when a criminal splashes acid in his face.

No release date has yet been scheduled.
