Nikhil Advani, after his directorial debut Kal Ho Na Ho (selected for the Oscar’s library for its ‘innovative storyline’) has already started with his next venture ‘Salaam-e-Ishq’ - A Tribute to Love. This multistarrer caper which has six actors and six actresses is creating a tremendous buzz in film circles for its unique cast and pairing of actors who have hitherto never been featured opposite each other.

The film pairs - Salman Khan with Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor cast opposite Juhi Chawla, Akshay Khanna opposite Ayesha Takia, Johan Abraham opposite Vidya Balan, Govinda with a foreign actress and Sohail Khan is paired with Perizaad Zorabian.

All the actors associated with the film are unwilling to reveal details about the film’s storyline, having been sworn to secrecy by the filmmaker but it is known that all of them seem to be quite excited about their work in the film. In the film six pairs aren’t related to one another yet they cross each other’s path at some stage or the other of the story, only to meet in the end.

Anil Kapoor has a clean shaven look in the film, as he had done years ago for Yash Chopra’s “Lamhe”. Actress Anjana Sukhani who made an entry in Bollywood with Kushan Nandy’s ‘Hum Dum’ will be playing the role of a choreographer opposite Anil Kapoor.

The music of ‘Salaam-e-Ishq’ is being composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy whereas the lyrics will be penned by Sameer. The film will be produced by Sunil Manchanda, who has produced ‘Tere Naam’ and ‘Kyon Ki’.

While the ‘pairings’ in the film have evoked tremendous curiosity for the film in trade circles, it is also said to feature all the actors in images far removed from their portrayals in Bollywood films till now.

The shooting of the film has already begun in November 2005 and set to be finished by July 2006. The movie is slated for a Diwali release which falls on the 14th of October, 2006. Adlabs Films Ltd. has acquired the overseas distribution rights Salaam-e-Ishq and if the buzz is to be believed, they paid an exorbitant amount for these rights. The duration of the film is the three hours.
