Saif Ali Khan seems to be following his star friend Salman Khan’s footsteps these days - be it car accident act, purchasing imported car and evading duty act, skipping court despite official summon act or going bald act.
Salman had gone hairless recently for Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Jaaneman’ and now Saif has his head shaved for filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj’s next movie, tentatively titled ‘Omkara‘ - a celluloid adaptation of Shakespeare’s Othello.
Another thing common between them is the hair stylist Aalim who was first responsible for scissoring Sallu to size and then chopping Saif’s.According to Aalim, Saif who wanted the new look for his film was too scared to cut it short. He needed a lot of convincing before parting with his precious long locks. Once done, Saif was happy with his new look and praised him by saying “its kickass”.
It is said Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Omkara’, whose shooting will begin in January, is going to be very different film. While Bharadwaj’s previous film ‘Maqbool’ had a muslim setting of the Mumbai underworld, ‘Omkar’ will have the underworld and political setting of U.P and Bihar.
Ajay Devgan is the lead actor in the movie and Saif plays the character of Cassius - a jealous counterpart who wrecks havoc in his life. Both Ajay and Saif (duo earlier appeared in Kachche Dhaage) have undergone a physical transformation and totally changed their looks for this movie. The film also has Kareena Kapoor, Konkona Sen Sharma, Viviek Anand Oberoi in strong roles and Bipasha Basu and Naseeruddin Shah will be seen in cameo.
