When there is such hype around Aamir Khan movie ‘Rang De Basanti’ which is falling on 26 January (Republic Day), who would be unwilling to use such a good opportunity to earn more out of it.

The film’s distributors and exhibitors have decided to hike the ticket rates at all multiplexes. So if you are an avid Aamir Khan fan you will end up paying more from your pocket.

Major multiplexes have hiked their rates as much as Rs 30-50 for the weekend. The good news is that the prices will be back to normal from Monday. Also single-screen theatres have decided to keep their rates intact.

The makers of the movie want to earn back their investment in quickest possible time (first week). The Khan himself has pledged his full support to exhibitors even if that means personally promoting the film. They also have an advantage considering that it will be an extended weekend.

If one remembers, the same (hike in tickets prices) thing happened with Aamir previous release ‘Mangal Pandey’. The idea has clicked then also and the film has earned huge collections in its first week itself.
