‘you have to work hard to earn love and respect’ - Abhishek

He is the king of cons (Bunty Aur Babli and Bluffmaster), a comic star (Bunty Aur Babli) a deadly thug (Yuva), a dedicated CID officer (Dhoom) and a justice loving son of the Godfather (Sarkar). This multifaceted star is none other than Abhishek Bachchan aka Chhota B aka Abhi. After facing dejection in the film industry initially, the spirited guy has come up to become one of the ‘hottest’ guys in the industry. He is loved by all his co-stars and linked to the most glamorous of the actresses. Today (5 feb 2006) Abhishek turned 30. And in the short span of his career he has learned to always remain practical even when success hit you and not to let disappointments bother you.

What are your plans for your birthday?
I’ll be doing what I like doing best - working and spending the day with people who help make me who I am.

Are you having a party?
No. I was shooting late last night but I hope to catch a meal with my family today.

Any birthday wishes?
I don’t believe in presents. I guess my family will give me lots of love and I don’t know if they have anything else planned. But I do hope all my friends can be with me on my birthday.

Have you set any goals now that its your 30th birthday?
I don’t think one should set goals. Every year is a landmark year. It’s important to be thankful for what you have.

Last year has been good?
I don’t delve into the past but what 2005 taught me is you have to work hard to earn love and respect.

We hope the best gift to Abhishek would have been when his father Amitabh Bachchan praised him and his work. Bachchan said “I’m very proud of him. Jaya and I supported him like any other parents, and stood by him. Like everyone else, Abhishek had to fight his battle alone. He has fought many odds. He has braved severe criticism and ridicule. Today he has proved himself.”

“Exciting moments last year were those where I was with him on-screen. Those films will always remain special. I found his performance in Bluffmaster to be the best so far. It was a wonderful, near-flawless performance.”

Getting a praised from your loved ones is not easy but Abhishek sure got one. And if that is not enough, his fans wishes will soon fill his heart. Happy Birthday Abhi!
