Yesteryears Bollywood actress Nadira (74) who was suffering from long ailment, died at her Mumbai home after a cardiac seizure. She was living alone in a flat in south Mumbai for many years.

Nadira was admitted to Bhatia hospital on January 2 after a paralytic stroke. She was also suffering from other complications and had been in coma, doctors said. The funeral will be held Thursday evening.

The Israel born and Jew by religion, Nadira had stepped into Indian cinema with her debut film ‘Aan’. In her career graph she has done more than 60 films and her forte was negative roles.

The actress is best known for her roles in classics like ‘Shri 420’ and ‘Dil Apna Preet Parayee’ and later on in spirited mother roles in ‘Julie’ and ‘Sagar’. Nadira was last seen in 2000 in Mansoor Khan’s ‘Josh’. Before that she did a role in Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Tamanna’ in 1997.
