Kovai Brothers has Satyaraj teaming up again with his son Sibiraj after their pairing in films like &#39;Jor&#39; and &#39;Vetrivel Saktivel&#39;.

The film is directed by Sakthi Chidambaram who&#39;s teaming up with Satyaraj resulted in such sucessful entertainers as &#39;Ennamma Kannu&#39; , &#39;Mahanadigan&#39; and &#39;Englishkaran&#39;. Namita and Uma play the female leads in this film.

The story centers on two men who vie woth each other to gain the attention of the heroine. How Sibi manages to win the girl&#39;s love despite Satyaraj&#39;s persistence forms the rest of the plot.

Playing the villain of the piece is Arun Pandian who returns to the screen after a long gap. There is the film&#39;s music director, Iman, who appears in a cameo.

Uma also plays a crucial role. A sprightly, gutsy character, there was a scene where she swims and rescues some people washed away by the waves.

The comedy track is taken care of by Vadivelu and V A Murthy. The others in the cast include Shriman, Kovai Sarala, Mohan Natrajan, Manobala, Balu Anand, Alwa Vasu, Bonda Mani, Marthandam, Thambi Ramiya, and T P G.

The film has a message, says the director. That men in high places should not misuse the power and privilege given to them. If they do, it would lead to unfortunate consequences. It&#39;s from his personal experience, adds the director, reminiscing about an incident that happened in his encounter with a government official some years ago.

Satyaraj and Sibi play producers of a popular TV show &#39; Kovai Brothers&#39;, that exposes and lays bare the grimy side of social and political life.

Satyaraj, as in his earilier films, appears in a few get-ups. This time one of them is a take-off on the character of Sanjay Ramaswamy of Gajini.

The film was shot at locations in Chennai, Ambasamudram, Kuttralam, Mercara, Sundarapandipuram and Achankovil in a 50 days&#39; schedule.

Produced by Cinema Paradise, Sakthi Chidambaram&#39;s home banner, it has misic by Iman, cinematography by Sureshdevan, art work by Vasan Karuna, stunt choreography by Dalapathy Dinesh and editing by Kasi Viswananathan.

While the teaming up of Satyaraj and Sibiraj in &#39;Jor&#39; was fiarly sucessful, there was nothing much to rave about in &#39;Mannin Mainthan&#39; and the recently released &#39;Vetrivel Saktivel&#39;. It will be interesting to see with what success Chidambram balances the reel characters of the real life father and son&#33;
