Albert Finney has been signed on to join Russell Crowe in Ridley Scott's 'A Good Year'

Good Year stars Crowe as Max Skinner, a London finance manager who quits the rat race and a ruined financial career behind when he inherits a vineyard in the South of France. When he arrives at his new home, he finds that a long-lost, female American cousin claims that she also owns the property.

Finney will play Henry Skinner, Max's uncle and the former property owner who is estranged father of the long-lost cousin. The female lead, which will play Finney's long-lost daughter, has yet to be cast.

Ridley Scott is directing for Fox from an adaptation of Peter Mayle's book by Marc Klein. Shooting is set to begin next month in Paris.

Elizabeth Gabler, President of Fox 2000, will be watching over the project's development and production with Vice President of Production Rodney Ferrell.

Finney, a five-time Academy Award nominee who most recently received a mention for his supporting turn in "Erin Brockovich," lends his voice to Tim Burton's upcoming "Corpse Bride." Albert Finney was last seen in the Tim Burton film, "Big Fish," co-starring Ewan McGregor and Jessica Lange.
