Brad Pitt and heavily pregnant Angelina Jolie have had enough of the constant interest in the arrival of their baby.

And their stay in Namibia, Africa, looks to have stirred up something of a political storm.

They’ve made a statement asking intrusive journalists and photographers to “kindly” leave them alone... and the country’s prime minister has backed them up.

The statement says, “We love Africa and to be here in Namibia with our family is very special for us.

“To the local people who have been so kind and gracious, thank you for making us feel at home.

“As for the press, we kindly ask for privacy so that we can enjoy this beautiful country with our children.”

Namibian Prime Minister Nahas Angula also spoke against the press: “This lady is expecting. You guys are harassing her. Why don’t you allow her some privacy?

“Harassment is not allowed in Namibia. If a person says they don’t want to be photographed then, of course, that person deserves protection.”And these are not just hollow words. South Africa’s Sunday Times said the pressure on the press was unprecedented.

“Three French paparazzi photographers were ordered to leave this week or face arrest,” it was reported.


Angelina Jolie has admitted she is afraid of marriage and starting a family. The stunner, who is set to marry Brad Pitt (42), has revealed a troubled adolescence in which she self-harmed, which means she now finds it difficult to commit.

“A lot of my relationships just weren’t honest enough,” she told OK! Magazine, from the Namibian hideout, where she and Brad are now staying.

“I’m one of those people who needs to learn to let somebody hug me.”

Angelina was also devastated when her father walked out on her family when she was just six years old.

She added, “My mother gave up her acting career to raise me and my beloved older brother after my father left us. My mom has taught me a lot about what it means to be a good person.”

Angelina and Brad recently escaped to Africa and are rumoured to tie the knot any day now.



Brad Pitt are prepared for every scenario as they await the birth of their baby — but they still don’t know where the tot will be born.

The couple are currently holed up in the compound of a fortress in Namibia, but seven-month pregnant Jolie admits the baby might not be born there.

But, in a TV interview in America, she remains coy about plans she and her boyfriend might have between now and the birth.

She says, “We’re just hoping it doesn’t happen when… We don’t know where it’s gonna happen or where it’s gonna be.

“We’ve been smart about this and we’re as prepared as (possible). Things will be as they will be... I’m ready for anything.”


Angelina gives birth to daughter

Angelina Jolie has given birth to Brad Pitt’s daughter, according to an announcement by Pitt’s publicist Cindy Guagenti.

The couple have named the child, Shiloh Nouvel Pitt-Jolie.

In her statement, Guagenti said: “The night of May 27, 2006, in Namibia, Africa, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt welcomed their daughter Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt. No further information is being given.”

She added that no photographs were being released.

According to the biblical encyclopaedia, christiananswers.net, Shiloh is generally understood to mean the Messiah — ‘the peaceful one’.

It is also said to be a place in ancient Israel, north of the Dead Sea.

In addition, Shiloh was the name of a major battle in the American Civil War.

The second part of the Hollywood couple’s chosen name has less religious and historical resonance. Nouvel is simply French for new.

Angelina has two adopted children — toddler Zahara from Ethiopia, and four-year-old Maddox from Cambodia.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s new baby daughter Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt has been offered citizenship in Namibia.

Jolie (30) welcomed her first biological child in The Cottage Hospital in Swakopmund, Namibia, on Saturday. The handsome pair also has two adopted children Maddox (4) and Zahara, 16 months.

Environment and Tourism Deputy Minister Leon Jooste released a statement, saying, “It is with enormous pleasure that I inform the Namibian nation about the birth of Angelina’s healthy baby girl early this morning.

“The entire procedure went according to plan and there were no medical or other complications at all.

“Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt will according to Namibian law be allowed to obtain Namibian citizenship if the parents should choose to do so.

“The couple are thoroughly overjoyed and they have expressed their happiness to be able to share this experience in Namibia.”

The Mr And Mrs Smith co-stars arrived in Namibia on April 5 with their children and their heavy security at the Burning Shores resort has prevented paparazzi intrusion.


Brad’s daughter ‘has his nose’

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s new baby has reportedly got tufts of brown hair and her dad’s nose.

Hospital insiders also described Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt born in Namibia as “beautiful”.

Since the birth the couple have donated $ 300,000 (Rs 1.38 crore) to local hospitals in Namibia.

Meanwhile, Angelina’s ex-hubby Jonny Lee Miller sent his congratulations to the couple.

He told The Sun: “I wish them all the best.”

Namibia film for Brad, Angelina

Brad Pitt reportedly cut newborn daughter Shiloh’s umbilical cord at her birth.

The Mirror says Brad was by Angelina’s side as she had a Caesarean section at a clinic in Namibia.

The couple’s obstetrician Jason Rothbart, who flew in from the US, said: “The baby was a healthy 7lbs.

“Brad was with Angelina all the time and cut the umbilical. The surgery and birth went flawlessly.”

Meanwhile, Brad and Angelina are filming a documentary about their stay in Namibia, including footage of their new baby.

The Sun says the couple have been recording their adventures to show fans what they’ve been up to in southern Africa.

A source is quoted as saying: “Angelina is in love with Namibia and wants fans to learn more about it and experience what she has experienced.

“Maddox is in the film along with Zahara, and they have agreed to include some footage of their new baby.”
The Hollywood couple have donated £170,000 (Rs 1.47 crore) to help with the delivery of other babies in Namibia.

Angelina Jolie’s baby has her own website.

Angelina, who gave birth last weekend, ordered aides to buy the website address ShilohNouvelJolie-Pitt.com.

Shiloh Nouvel’s site has been registered and Angelina has recorded herself as the administrator with her Los Angeles law firm as the contact point.

Meanwhile, Hugh Hefner wants Angelina to pose for Playboy even though she has just given birth. According to The Sun, Hugh said: “I’m hoping to bump into Angelina Jolie to get her to do Playboy after she’s recovered from having the baby.”

Shiloh Nouvel is the first child for Brad Pitt and Angelina the couple has two adopted children.

A silver spoon apparently doesn’t make the cut for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s new baby daughter. A personalised pacifier-maker will instead gift the celebrity couple a $17,000, diamond-studded pacifier.

“It’s a solid, white-gold pacifier, with 279 diamonds. The whole front of it is covered with diamonds, three-carat plus,” Mathis Riiber, a founder of Itsmybinky.com, told AFP.

Riiber said the pricey aide was originally made for Donald Trump’s baby, and he claimed that he will gift the pacifier to Jolie and Pitt in the next couple of weeks on a television show.

The company makes customised pacifiers of coloured diamonds for high-end customers.

Jolie and Pitt’s baby girl, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, was born on May 27.

Meanwhile, Jolie’s estranged father Jon Voight, appeared on US network MSNBC Thursday night and extended his best wishes to the couple.

He said, “I’m almost unable to describe how deeply happy I am for her (Shiloh’s) parents and so happy to have this new little one in the world.”

When MSNBC news anchor Rita Cosby asked him if he had hope that he would see his granddaughter he said, “I can just think that one day, I’ll just say ‘Hey Shi, come over here.’ You know?”

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will give the world its first peek at their newborn daughter by releasing photos of Shiloh Nouvel, with profits going to charity.

The images, taken at a private photo shoot, will be distributed by Getty Images, the photo agency said on Monday. All profits will be given to charity, though no specific foundation was announced.

“While we celebrate the joy of the birth of our daughter, we recognise that two million babies born every year in the developing world die on the first day of their lives,” the couple said in a joint statement.

“These children can be saved, but only if governments around the world make it a priority.”

Deb Trevino, a spokeswoman for Getty Images, told The Associated Press the family would later name the charity that will receive the funds. She would not disclose how much the photos were being sold for, or
when they would be distributed.

Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt was born on May 27 in Namibia.

The couple have yet to make a public appearance since the birth.

Even though People magazine announced it had landed exclusive rights to the first pictures of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s baby, a purported image of the newborn Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt and her parents popped up on at least two websites as the cover shot for British-based weekly Hello.
The picture surfaced on celebrity-lampooning Defamer.com and the LiveJournal gossip blog. The photo shows Jolie, 30, looking down at the sleeping infant beside her along with Pitt, 42, by her side.
The authenticity of the images could not be immediately verified, but others in the magazine industry said they presumed it was real.
